All About The Montessori School of Northampton
If you're in Massachusettes area and you're considering sending your child to a Montessori school, how about checking out The Montessori School of Northampton? This fantastic school is based on the teachings and educational philosophy of the famous Dr. Maria Montessori, Italy's first female doctor. Dr. Montessori believed that children were born with extraordinary creative potential inside each and very one of them just waiting to blossom. After working with special needs children, she wondered if some of the techniques that were so effective on them could be applied to children without so called special needs.
The Montessori method of teaching includes grouping children into three year age groups. This is so the children will naturally teach each other and learn from each other. This give and take process creates nurturing, helpful children that understand the value of teamwork and community.
The elementary program at The Montessori School of Northampton accepts children from six years of age to twelve years of age. The school day runs from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. However the school itself is open from 7:30 am to 5:00 p.m. and offers before and after school care.
The curriculum for the elementary program will include literacy, language, zoology, botany, math, geography, art, and special activities such as research programs and field trips. At the Montessori School of Northampton, your child is surrounded by a nurturing environment where he or she can learn at his or her own pace.
If you'd like to enroll your child in The Montessori School of Northampton, you'll need to make an appointment to visit the school. Once there, you will meet the staff and learn more about the school and the application process.
At the present time, the Montessori Elementary program costs approximately $8,000 for one year of tuition. However, there are financial aid programs you can apply for to help you afford the costs if necessary. Upon your initial visit to The Montessori School of Northampton, you can request information about how to apply for this financial aid for your child.
The Montessori School of Northampton also boasts a variety of fun and educational summer sessions. These programs are several weeks in length and focus on things like art, drama, science, and exploration.
